Family Handprints

I was inspired last week at a local amusement park to do family hand prints.  I saw a vendor at the park that would take your hand prints and make all kinds of creative art...but it was $15 a hand! Yikes! But I wanted it SO badly...but I talked myself out of it due to the price.  I pined for those prints for days and started stalking Pinterest and the Internet trying to find something I could do myself.  I never did find exactly what I wanted, but I got enough ideas and inspiration to come up with this...

And I am in LOVE.  What a perfect way to freeze time and have a piece of my kids stay little forever!

What you need...

Poster board
Paints (I used crayola washable poster paint)
Frame
Scrap booking letters

Optional...

Paint brushes
Paper plates

Directions.  Pour paint onto paper plate or brush paint directly onto hand.  I found that pouring paint onto plate and then brushing paint on hand with a foam brush worked best.  Make sure to keep the paint uniform and not too thick.  The tricky part is getting the little hands to cooperate!  I recommend some test prints on another paper before going for the real deal!

You can arrange the hand prints how ever you like and do whatever colors you like.  I did everyone a different color.  And I did mom and dad upside down and the kids right side up with a painted heart in mom and dads hands.

Wash hands! and Let the paint dry!!  Then apply scrapbook letters saying whatever you desire.  And frame!

Easy! And a perfect time capsule for any sentimental parent...or grandparent! Great gift!
